dcafmeloyelo commented il y a 17min"**For context, the user name on this post, wtz_fan is just a site based archive for songs from deleted user accounts, this song was originally posted by user name Newfoundland, and their account was deleted recently so the song defaulted to wtz_fan**
Just a potential conspiracy theory 🤪 but; the original user that posted this song, Newfoundland, was linked to the famous lost media song EKT. He posted the same snippet that Carl92 had of EKT not long after Carl92's original post, as if he had randomly found the sample himself somewhere, when really it was just a cut and paste of Carl92's. At this point in time though, EKT was still pretty much unkown beyond a handful on WZS
This year, when EKT really blew up in popularity, but was still lost media, people on Reddit noticed this dual post of the same song from the archive, and considered Newfoundland a potential lead.. as if maybe he was actually both users just trying to gain additional interest in the song with multiple posts.
At this point in the EKT search (sometime in March or April 24') Newfoundland hadn't posted anything in quite some time, but when they became a lead on the EKT subreddit, they all the sudden posted this song.
By May 21 when Newfoundland posted their longer snippet here for this song, EKT had been found.
Look at Lakery's post below where they say about the new snippet "i checked through the metadata and the title is Wanted' recorded in 1999, by the band csb" and later they add "newfoundland intentionally added stuff into the metadata to mess with people" to which Newfoundland replies "That was placeholder text, I genuinley want to know what this song is"
So, his placeholder text had a ton of coincidences; 1999 was famously the year that Carl92 had marked his EKT file as being likely saved in, due to him saying that's how the file data read, later, when EKT was found we then knew that the artist was Christopher Saint Booth, who on reddit is more commonly referred to as CSB. Add to that he had the title listed as Wanted in this 'placeholder' metadata (before the song was named on this site) when that just happened to be the songs title, granted they say it about 70 times in the song, but still, haha.
It all seems very trolly to me, I don't know the specifics of why his account was deleted, but it's all kind of sus.
"I will add something a bit suspicious: the short sample is the same between them but for the long sample, the version uploaded by Newfoundland has a bitrate of 128k while the version by the original op has a bitrate of 96.1khey so this is a reupload of another sample (https://www.watzatsong.com/en/name-that-tune/733660.html), newfoundland intentionally added stuff into the metadata to mess with people

Here I found a Spotify playlist, many of which I know from the Hotel 13 show. However, some tracks are somehow gray and cannot be played.

He has said he doesn't know what library's music was used, and has apologised he couldn't be of much help.

He just got back to me and said that the show's soundtrack is all put together with library music, so there is no single composer as far as he is aware. So this has made my job a whole lot harder. I have asked him what library's music was used, if he knows.

I have reached out to Sam Clunie, one of the composers of the additional music for Hotel13.
Edit: I have just looked at my emails, and have replied to the one I received from him, pretty quickly I might add, within about five minutes or so. Unfortunately it is not his. I did ask him who the soundtrack composer for that show was though with a view to perhaps contacting them and asking.
I will let you know what else comes out of my searches if anything.
