Thank you so much for this answer. I didn't know Future Bass was a thing, and it is definitely the genre that fits this piece. That will help my search enormously (assuming this track is uploaded somewhere on Youtube). The video creator didn't make the song himself, I can guarantee you that.

I did consider this being part of a generic corporate audio stock library, however after checking through around 10 different audio stock websites matching by BPM and duration I didn't find anything similar.

I feel like this song goes too "hard" for corporate background music, so that's why I assume this rather belongs to a really small newer (for the time) artist who probably uploaded it to souncloud or something with a royalty free tag and the video creator was one of the maybe few hundred people who got to click on it. Besides, audio library producers sell these in huge batches, and like you said I did notice the novice quality of this piece, which means the artist probably doesn't mass produce these to sell, and it is more likely to be found in a random gaming music mix in Youtube or something.

The most fitting genre would be Future Bass, not really dubstep. The LFO (hovering) chords and the drums for me are specifically for trap-ish or future bass. Even the "water drop" sample is in there, classic.. Only thing missing is a "squeaky bed" sample. The artist probably even chose them from a future bass sample pack. I remember the genre becoming popular around 2016-17 but it could have been released later than that. Anything earlier than 2016 seems unlikely for me but that might just be me.

Having heard too many NCS songs I can't remember this one. With respect to the producer of the song, this doesn't have the highest production quality (opinion).. It could have gotten a better mix and especially the melody lead synthesizer is louder than the saw chords. While its a nice song for what it is, I feel like we are talking about a song of someone who hasn't been producing for very long. That doesn't mean it's garbage or anything, beginners always lack the ability to properly mix and master their songs and their creations are still good.

    My guesses are:

    1. This could have been produced by someone unknown who sold it to a music library specifically made for videos, probably would have the "gaming" tag on it as that music is constantly used for YT gaming and sometimes vlogs

    2. The video creator of that FPS montage made the song themselves, thought it would be nice to have it in the video.
