"This is from a commercial/PSA ca. 1961 in South Africa, when the rand replaced pounds, shillings, and pence as the national currency. Decimal Dan was a cartoon character aimed at familiarizing people with the new currency, which was decimal (1R = 100c) unlike the pound (£SA=20s ; 1s=20d). Not rock."
