"I know that the song is a contrafactum of "smoke on the water" from Deep Purple. The first time I heard this song was around 2010. I know that I got hold of it on a CD with other songs from various artists. I think they were all new music that someone in my family bought/got. This was the only mysterious song on it as far as I remember, but I can't check the CD because I lost it over the years. The CD itself was burned by the person I got it from. If I remember correctly, I got it from an aunt of mine, but I can't ask her since she passed away in 2014. Others in my family don't know this song, so I think that I am the only one who got it from her.  I am from around Moers/Duisburg in Germany. So I have looked for some local bands, but I couldn't find any that sounded similar. The Lyrics as far as I understand them: Wer hat den Vater Rhein in seinem Bett gesehen? Man kann die Fische gar nicht sehen. Dreck is' im Wasser. Dreck is' im Wasser. Steckst du ein Bein in Rhein hinein, Dann is et plötzlich klein. Dreck is' im Wasser. Dreck is' im Wasser. "Hello ! I saw today an article about two unknown new wave songs (both allegedly from 80s), and in the article they talked about this website too (which I didn't know). I remembered that I have this MIDI file called DRYVE since late 90s (randomly found in one of those midi zip collections at the time), and I never understood its origin, who did it, if there is a real version with proper guitars/drums etc. I already tried to ask around in the past but the only vague reply about it stated that it comes from a movie soundtrack, the movie was the typical one for kids/teenagers, and it was about a sentient computer who was friend of the lead character (a kid) or something like that. About the song itself, it's a really nice instrumental rock/metal with some great guitar solos. I wanted to upload the original midi file but it seems the website don't like that format ("Please make sure you upload a proper mp3, ogg or wav file smaller than 25Mb"), so I made an mp3. If you want the original MIDI let me know. Thanks !"

    "i have no idea, i forgot, it was some random "vintage remixes" yt video iirc but i think it was taken down as the description read something like "this video will be taken down soon due to copyright". the video had no sort of credit to the artists so i couldn't find the song name at all.
