  ...and i've been through peel's tracklists/shows/sessions to no avail

  OP of the video is still active. they say that this may have been played in 1982, it was alongside new orders 2nd peel session on the tape. they think it could've been the july 5, 1982 show, which unfortunatly is not archived on the wiki... hopefully this band/song was played more than once. we're trying to get a tracklist of the tape

  "early 80's" so 1980-84 most likely. it could be a peel session, to me, this band is similar to 3d a fish in sea, another band who did peel sessions and had a mysterious song as well, but it's probably not them, otherwise we'd know by now. here's a good resource: https://peel.fandom.com/wiki/John_Peel_Wiki hopefully he announced it so it's not listed as an unknown track or on an unknown date there. would love to hear it in hq and in full, certainly a very off-putting song
