Something that nobody seems to be talking about is that it seems that in reality the "complete" version is just a fragment of the original, it is easy to notice it since it begins with the end of a word.

So your friend cut it or the audio of the cassette was damaged and the version found is only the final part.

i am pretty sure the "found" version is just the original radio recording op sourced it from and as long as we don't find the song this is the most we have, that's how radio recording works

I thought if the guys were serious about the career, they should have register with a royalty collection agencies like ASCAP, BMI. Guessing from the lyrics (transript for a full fragment is in the youtube comments), the title should be "Pretty Doll" or "My Pretty Doll". I tried to search the repertoire at the several (ppi, SoundExchange), the title like this is rare so not so many titles to check but giving the possible years range not so many to choose from

mostly just in the cadence of the singer in the first part and the chord progression. yeah theres not most of the weird shit, but it could be from the same circle of musicians.

I am fascinated by the attention this little mystery received. I was not aware of this search at all until recently - I do not have an idea who the original poster of this sample is - and I have no idea how could such a great song get lost to time. I recorded from various stations around the Sheffield area at the time. I will go throught the full tape tomorrow and upload both sides. Side one can easily be detected by modern software - no issues with any title. Side two contains four songs impossible to identify with software.

I do not remember exactly, but I can tell you side two was recorded over at least once. Some of these tracks may be from before I recorded the rest of the tape over, which if I recall correctly would be around 2000.

Find more information!!!, in the images that the page has there is a photo with the members of the band and I found Travis wood, guitarist and singer of the band Red Rocket who for reasons of fate (and it makes sense to me) is one of the members of Whosarmy. that on this page appears the face of Travis singing.

This is definitely not the band becuase:

1.- Why would such an obscure Canadian band be playing on UK radio?

2.- If this was the song, we would have lost 54 seconds of the song which is nearly 1 minute, this doesn't make sense because the song doesn't seem to be any longer than just 3 minutes and a few seconds judging by the cut off intro at the beginning of the recording we currently have.

3.- No mentions of piano or strings instruments are in the credits which can be clearly heard in the song.

Some of the local ones which I recall were Hallam FM and Sure FM, we also had a local BBC radio. I don't think any of these unknown tracks were recorded from Hallam as they played chart hits if I recall correctly. For the earlier rendition of the tape (around 2000 I believe), I don't remember too well at this point, but it might have even been a pirate radio.

The show names on this website definitely do ring a bell. I am also fairly certain I listened to SURE the most, as it had the most variety and played non-mainstream music nearly all the time.
