"I thought 70s at first, but maybe more recent. Resembles Gerry Rafferty's Baker Street: a subdued male vocal followed by a strong orchestral chorus, which is the section I played and uploaded. Suspected Steve Winwood but haven't found a match yet."

@Brst Appreciate your proposal, but for starters, the tempo of my sample is much slower, around 90.

@Brst The Assembly song is a closer match on tempo, but the chorus section that I recorded and uploaded is in fact played by a string section without vocals (although most of the song is voiced).
