This track comes from an album released by the Canadian Talent Library in 1978 called Music To Do Anything By. The music was all conducted by Ben McPeak and his Orchestra, and had many writers, even Paul McCartney and John Lennon helped work on it according to the back of the sleeve. The album contains 10 easy listening tracks, and this one is called "Me", and is the third track on the album.
These records were sometimes available to the public, but as far as I know, most of these were sold to easy listening stations across the country. It's possible that this particular record was never released publicly, and only ever heard over the air. Mainly because there's no online mention of this record anywhere, and believe me, I checked.
I suspect your cassette was simply a copy made by someone who might have worked at a radio station that had a copy, and recorded it for personal use. The record needle sound at the end of the full recording is what leads me to believe that.
I know about this record because I just so happen to have it! By sheer luck, whether a rare public release, or one that used to belong to a radio station, ended up at a thrift store near me, and I took it home. It's in perfect condition and sounds wonderful!
I had actually recorded the music off of it and kept it on my computer to use as background music for my YT channel because it has a good variety of tracks, and doesn't trigger any copyright strikes. Whether this is because it's out of copyright and/or because the Canadian Talent Library has been defunct for 4 decades is a mystery to me. Little did I know all this time that I had an entire album of lost media! I checked it online after seeing this post and as mentioned before, found nothing at all about this.
I'd be happy to upload all the music from the album for people to listen and use as they like. I'm glad to know this is another piece of media that has been saved.

The sample that I originally uploaded was just a quick rip from my old Walkman, which is in dire need of being demagnetized. My Kenwood cassette deck makes it sound much better, but there's only so much quality that can be put on an old Type 1 tape, especially one from the 1970s.
Interestingly, at the end of the recording before it cuts, I can hear what sounds like a low rumbling, like the kind when a record needle reaches the end of a song and moves to the part where the next song is. I suspect this might be a recording of a record, so that might help the search.

I actually have the entire song, and I just ripped it using a better-quality cassette deck this morning. If you'd like to listen, I've got it here: https://voca.ro/1ilLnF1117fY
